HAIR CARE TIPS
SHAMPOO AND CONDITION
Shampoo and deep condition your hair extensions before you install it.
RECOMMENDED PRODUCTS:
Suave Professionals and Tresemme Shampoo and Conditioner.
I do not recommend OGX shampoo and conditioner for this hair.
Shampoo the hair then add the conditioner, put the hair in a plastic bag while the conditioner is on it then put it inside the microwave for 1 minute. Let it sit for at least two hours. I normally do overnight. It leaves the hair very soft and tangle free.
SEAL AND PROTECT
Seal your wefts to prevent shedding that may occur.
Never comb curly hair textures unless it is wet or contains conditioners and moisturizers.
RECOMMENDED PRODUCTS FOR CURLY HAIR
Spray bottle, Denman brush, and a wide tooth comb. Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft curls, Tresemme Flawless Curls Mousse.
CURLY HAIR MAINTENANCE
When you go to sleep at night first detangle your hair with a wide tooth comb. Then, braid your hair into 2-4 braids and wear a scarf.
In the morning, take the braids out, get a spray bottle and drench the hair in mixed water and leave in conditioner. Gently brush the hair with the Denman brush, scrunch, let let air dry and walaah!
MAINTAIN AND SLAY
Try not to put heat to your hair everyday, it can dry out your hair.
We recommend letting a professional dye your hair extensions and using professional products for the best results (no cheap stuff).
Never sleep with wet hair extensions. Always make sure the hair is dry and pulled up, or into a braid to keep hair from tangling at night.
- HAIR HYDRATION/MOISURIZING -
- Always use conditioner (for dry hair) on my hair extensions. Minimize the usage of shampoo due to making the hair even more dry. Just because its commonly done, does not mean it is properly done.
- If your hair extensions are dry, DO NOT brush it, it needs to be moisturized/hydrated. This is done by applying leave-in conditioner, wet it, or oil (dime size) as needed. Treat your hair extensions like you would treat your own hair, it also needs attention, and some bundles need more attention than others. Every purchase of hair extensions should always be treated as such, new hair extensions, not what you purchased previously.
- The curlier the hair extensions, the bushier your hair will be and they will require more moisturizer/hydration.
- If your hair extensions are dry, they will tangle. My hair extensions will tangle if not properly cared for.
- SHEDDING HAIR -
- Hair extensions that sheds does not indicate that the hair is bad/bad batch/not good, or horrible hair. Hair extensions that sheds is a direct indicator that your extensions/weave (weft/track) isn't sewn tight enough to prevent hair strands from being removed easily. Hair stands are very fine, and if the weft isn't sewn tight enough with thread, the hair strand are easily pulled from the weft/track. All hair extensions shed, some with minimal shedding and in other cases excessive shedding. This is why people sometimes "reinforce the wefts" by using glue (e.g., fray check) or sewing machine.
- GOING SWIMMING -
- Prior to all water activities, condition hair and braid/plait your hair to minimize tangling of hair from being in the water. As mentioned in the Hair Hydration/Moisturizing section, hair that is dry will tangle. Pool water (chlorine) and Ocean water (salt) will dry out your hair, and this is the reason for applying conditioner prior to entering water.
